Frederick M. Azar, M.D.











Dr. Azar is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Tulane University School of Medicine. He served his orthopaedic residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN and a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Azar joined the Campbell Clinic staff in 1995 as a sports medicine specialist.

Dr. Azar serves as a professor, director of the residency program and director of the sports medicine fellowship for the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Azar is the team physician for the Memphis Grizzlies National Basketball Association team, as well as for the University of Memphis and Christian Brothers University athletics.

Dr. Azar is on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and serves as Treasurer-Elect. He is active in numerous other professional societies including the American Orthopaedic Association, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
