Chief of Staff, Campbell Clinic

A graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, Dr. James Beaty served his orthopaedic residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis and a pediatric fellowship at the A.I. DuPont Institute in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Beaty joined the staff of Campbell Clinic in 1982 as a specialist in pediatric orthopaedics and pediatric trauma and is currently Chief of Staff.

Dr. Beaty is a professor of orthopaedics and co-director of the pediatric fellowship at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also director of pediatric orthopaedics at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center.

Active in numerous professional organizations, Dr. Beaty is past president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, and American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Beaty has contributed significantly to the orthopaedic literature in both journals and textbooks. He is a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, co-editor of Operative Pediatric Orthopaedics and Fractures in Children. Dr. Beaty is also the co-editor of the current edition of Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics.
