Community Healthcare

Charity care has always been a part of The Campbell Foundation’s mission. Dr. Campbell set a precedent when he and his colleagues played a leading role in opening the Crippled Children’s Hospital in 1919 in Memphis, followed in 1923 by the Crippled Adults Hospital. Campbell Clinic physicians’ expertise and compassionate care are available to all the area’s children and adults regardless of ability to pay. Funding for outreach programs is provided by The Campbell Foundation.

Pediatric Outreach Program

The Pediatric Outreach Program provides the very best orthopaedic care to those who otherwise cannot afford it through a clinic at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center. Each month over 500 indigent children are treated for traumatic injuries, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, club foot deformities, scoliosis & a variety of other musculoskeletal problem. Pediatric surgeons Drs. William Warner, James Beaty, Terry Canale, and Jeff Sawyer staff the clinic. The Campbell Foundation supports several clinics per week for children from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Adult Outreach Program

Orthopaedic services also provided for adults with disabilities in partnership with The Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The MED). Over 4,000 surgical procedures were performed last year on Mid-South adults. Access to compassionate care greatly improves the quality of life for these patients, often resulting in actives lives and the ability to live independently. Your support of this program provides important screenings and treatment for The medically under-served communities in the Mid-South.
